How does induction and access work?
Once you sign up, our team will guide you through the Equinix induction process. You'll receive access credentials and can request facility access through our customer portal. For plans with 24/7 access cards, you can visit the data center anytime. For occasional access plans, simply submit an access request and we'll arrange entry for you.
What's the process for initial setup?
After signing your agreement, we'll schedule your equipment installation. You can either ship your equipment to our facility or bring it in person. We can optionally assist with rack mounting, or complete the entire installation to your specification.
What cross-connect and interconnection options are available?
Being located at Equinix Mascot Campus gives you access to one of Australia's most connected ecosystems. We can arrange cross-connects to other tenants, cloud on-ramps for direct connections to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and peering with major carriers. BGP is available on all plans if you bring your own IP space.
What's included with remote hands support?
Remote hands support means our qualified technicians can be your on-site team when you need them. We can handle server reboots, cable management, hardware installations, basic troubleshooting, and even escort your staff into the data center. Remote hands is available as an add-on service, charged per request or on a monthly retainer.
How secure are your data centers?
Security is our top priority. The Equinix Mascot Campus features multiple layers of protection: biometric access controls, 24/7 on-site security, CCTV monitoring, mantrap entrances, and compliance with Australian government security standards. Your servers are protected by the same level of security used by banks and government agencies.
Can I visit my servers whenever I need to?
Access depends on your plan. Plans with 24/7 access cards allow you to visit anytime after completing your induction. For occasional access plans, you can schedule visits through our customer portal and we'll arrange entry. All visitors must complete the Equinix site induction for safety and security compliance.
What kind of network connectivity do you offer?
We maintain peering relationships with all major Australian ISPs and international carriers. Our network is designed for low latency and high reliability, with multiple redundant paths.
